The Intercultural Development Programme (ICD), led by Dr Linda Yang of the Intercultural Development Institute (ICDI), has now completed two highly acclaimed deliveries at Murdoch Edge, Singapore—cementing its place as a signature learning experience for students and alumni preparing for global careers.
First launched in 2024 and run again in March 2025 at the new Odeon 333 City Campus, the ICD has received 100% recommendation rates from participants in both years, with consistent praise for its interactive format, practical value, and relevance to real-world cross-cultural challenges.
Over five intensive days, students and alumni from diverse backgrounds engaged in three interconnected workshops designed to build critical 21st-century skills, from intercultural competence and cross-cultural communication to inclusive team leadership.
“This is a best-in-class training. The insights are invaluable for anyone looking to lead diverse teams and thrive in today’s interconnected world.”
— Benedict Leow, Director, The Soup Spoon & Murdoch Alumnus
What sets the ICD apart is its experiential, research-informed approach. Participants are not passive recipients of theory—they reflect, interact, and actively build their global mindset through engaging discussions, real-world case studies, and practical application.
“So thankful for the opportunity to attend Dr Linda Hui Yang’s class. The lessons were so interactive and fun, I totally took it as my ‘getaway’ from work. The knowledge shared came alive as I reflected on my intercultural experiences. I wish these lessons were taught to me earlier—but better late than never!”
— Jayce Tan, Overseas HR Manager, Watchdata Technologies Ltd & Murdoch Singapore Alumna
The programme has drawn participation from undergraduates, postgraduates, and alumni alike—creating a unique space for intergenerational and intercultural exchange. With increasing visibility on LinkedIn and growing alumni endorsements, ICD continues to expand its impact and network year after year.
“Join this to be more international. Having the strongest passport is useless without it!”
— Kai Xiang Ng, Undergraduate, Murdoch Singapore
The ICD is more than a workshop series—it is a transformational journey that prepares participants to thrive in diverse teams, adapt across cultures, and lead with empathy in a global context.
