Following its successful debut in 2024, the full-day workshop “Intercultural Competence for Education: Deep Dive”—delivered by Dr Linda Yang in partnership with CISWA—returned in 2025 due to high demand and exceptional participant feedback.
Held in Perth and tailored for educational professionals across Western Australia, this sold-out training provided a powerful space for participants to strengthen their intercultural competence and rethink how they engage with international students. With her signature blend of research-informed insight and dynamic facilitation, Dr Yang once again delivered a transformative professional development experience.
Participants explored key themes such as:
- Communicating effectively across cultures
- Building trust and connection with diverse student cohorts
- Recognising unconscious bias and reducing cultural misunderstandings
- Creating inclusive learning and support environments
“Linda’s session was both practical and thought-provoking. It pushed us to reflect deeply on our assumptions and gave us tools we can immediately apply to support our international students more effectively.”

Engaging activities, real-world case examples, and intercultural frameworks empowered attendees to shift from a one-size-fits-all mindset to culturally responsive approaches in their roles – whether in teaching, academic support, or student services.
Feedback from both the 2024 and 2025 cohorts consistently praised the workshop’s relevance, energy, and impact. Many attendees left the session inspired to become stronger allies and advocates for cultural inclusion on their campuses.
